Welcome to TracksMe
Welcome to TracksMe, a web application designed to help you keep track of life and it's effects on your well-being.
Tracks
Creating Tracks
Upon registering you will be asked to create between 1 and 10 'Tracks'. Each 'Track' represents something that you'd like to track you feelings about over time and each day that you log in, you will be asked how you feel about each track. For example, one of your tracks may be called 'Health - Physical'. Each day that you log in you'll be asked how you feel about this and to score the 'track' using one of three options:
- Bad
- Neutral
- Good
Scoring Tracks
The score for each track should be how you feel at that particular time, not necessarily how you've felt previously in the day, week, month, etc. The reason for a 'feeling' based score rather than a quantity based score (e.g. Number of hours exercised that day), is that there are often a number of factors that could be good for a particular track, but might not be well represented by a quantity.
Overall Score
The reason for restricting the choices to score each track was so that a simple 'overall' track could be created for each day that is the summation of the scores for each track, where:
- Bad = -1
- Neutral = 0
- Good = 1
Goals
Long-term tracking
The initial goal of the website was to help track how I was feeling about certain aspects of my life over a long period of time. The input had to be as simple as possible to promote the likelihood of me actually doing this!
As the idea progressed, I thought it would be interesting to be able to look back over various metrics and visually see the correlations and how I felt generally.
Correlation
The most interesting thing, in my opinion, about this project is seeing how various factors all contributed to the overall score over a long term tracking. Being able to see the track scores based on days, times, other other filters is also interesting to see and lends well to taking a retrospective look at the months or years gone by.
Looking Ahead
Features
I'll keep adding new filters, graphs and other features as I come up with them (feel free to get in touch with me at scottidotwork@gmail.com), so keep checking back or suggesting any!
Thanks for being a part of the project and, remember: Keep Tracking!
